Rafał Maćkowiak is both film and theatre actor. Since 2001, he’s a part of TR Warsaw theater group, one of the best polish theaters. Works with directors such as Grzegorz Jarzyna, Krzysztof Warlikowski, Kornél Mundruczó, Rene Pollesch, Anna Karasińska.
He made his film debut in 1997 with „Anger” dir. Marcin Ziębiński. Since than performed in numerous feature movies and tv series. Collaborated with Agnieszka Holland, Małgorzata Szumowska, Piotr Łazarkiewicz, Maciej Pieprzyca, Przemysław Wojcieszek, Magdalena Piekorz,Wilhelm and Anka Sasnal or Paweł Borowski.
In 2009 he was nominated for the Polish Film Awards: Eagles, for the best supporting actor in „33 Scenes from Life” dir. Małgorzata Szumowska.
He was also nominated for the Zbyszek Cybulski Award, for the best young polish actor. In 2005 („Down Colourful Hill” dir. Przemysław Wojcieszek) and in 2008 („Drowsiness” dir. Magdalena Piekorz).
